With design by Woods Bagot, construction is set to commence on Vue on King William, Adelaide’s new 85-metre tall residential tower. Located along one of Adelaide’s main city Boulevards, King William Street, the design takes advantage of its prime location and the introduction of a new residential population.
Vue on King William will contribute to the enhancement of the City South precinct to become a vibrant and sustainable part of the city. The centrally located residential tower will be the tallest in Adelaide at 27-storeys high, featuring a pool and leisure zone on level six including gym and barbeque facilities overlooking the city and out to the coast.
The design includes a total of 205 new apartments, with a mix of one, two or three bedroom configurations. The typical residential floor plan includes 10 apartments accessed by a discreet circulation lobby with careful consideration for natural daylight and ventilation.
A centrally located double height lobby fronting King William Street creates a strong and identifiable entry to the tower above. Retail tenancies on either side will maximise activation to the street and provide a vibrant pedestrian streetscape. The building form features a folded glass curtain wall façade with recessed balconies.
Woods Bagot Principal Gavin Kain says “The design aims to improve the views from the apartments as well as create a sculptured building form that twists as the form rises.” At street level an articulated layer of metal perforated screening adds detail and human scale to the streetscape while providing residents with privacy. Construction of the project is expected to commence on site in July. Source: Woods Bagot.
