The office’s design for the 5.800 square meter area on the former central post office ground close to the shopping mall “My Zeil“, prevailed against numerous renowned competitors. ith the commission of the three new residential towers, the Hamburg-based property developer Becken offers a suitable response to the scarce space resources within Frankfurt’s city centre and creates residential space and a nursery in a central location. The thought-through detailing of the natural stone clad towers and their intriguing floor plan development show a new built, that will architecturally substantially upgrade Frankfurt’s city centre.
Design: Variety and Identity
A distinct residential typology was developed, based on a functionally designed core structure. Newly arranged floor plans for apartments are added next to the building´s core structure, which form the three towers from the inside to the outside. Each high-rise asserts itself in its cubage as an independent building with the uniformity of the facade emphasising the character of an ensemble. The base area of the towers is kept small, the building structures for each building are specifically slimmed down. The expressive facade with light and streamlined pilaster strips from high-end natural stone lends all three towers a vertical dominance. They follow a traditional structure: A clear, well-proportioned base, an elegantly emerging shaft and an appropriate crown are formed. Relating to each other, the structure tapers towards its top – to the south and west extensive terraces are formed. Source by Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie.
