The $850 million Keells Waterfront project transforms the very ideas of urbanism and architecture- fundamentally changing the way people live. Integration of multiple functional elements within one architectural composition has never been done on this scale in South-East Asia.
The 4.5 million sqft project includes an 800 room luxury hotel, a large high-end retail mall, luxury residencies, state of the art office space and convention areas. The overall ‘scallop’ form is reminiscent of a guard stone, reflecting Sri Lanka’s past and traditions.
In contrast the dynamic façade, strong horizontal projections and fluidity of the retail mall roof move towards the future. Keells Waterfront represents the engagement between individuality and universality, functionalism and aspiration. A no limits project symbolic of Sri Lanka’s ambition, drive and growth.
An icon for Sri Lanka, Waterfront is the first project of its kind in the capital city of Colombo. Situated in a premier location of the city, the scheme includes a 6 star hotel, apartment blocks, large retail centre, office buildings and car parks. It is a city within a city.
