The Delta District

The Delta DistrictThe Delta District is to become the very first green residential development area of the new city Vinge in Denmark. It is to be sustainable, innovative and liveable.
The Delta DistrictThe plan shows how original planning can create dual functions: promote better communities and prevent flooding. A man-made delta and creeks handle rainwater and provide the city district with unique qualities.
The Delta DistrictThe landscape determines urban development to achieve a community where landscape, nature and sustainability are combined with a vibrant urban environment.
The Delta DistrictThe district is characterized by the delta which serves the practical purpose in a rainwater management system which is unique to this city, and in addition has both an ecological function for e.g. amphibians and birds as well as a recreational and social function for citizens and visitors.
The Delta DistrictThe Delta District in Vinge will have many different modes of residency from small single family houses and cluster houses to apartments and larger villas.
The Delta DistrictThe architecture of each house will be defined and designed by each family who buys a plot and built a house. This facilitates the meeting of many different demands and economies.
The Delta DistrictThe plan is robust so it can handle a great diversity in the architecture and by embracing the differences the plan can ensure a diverse range of residents to bring life and atmosphere to the area.
