The Siza HouseOn August 24th, 2014, the Taifong Golf Club officially opened its West Hall (The Siza House), the first project ever built in Taiwan by Pritzker Prize Laureate Álvaro Siza.
The Siza HouseIn order to integrate the landscape of the golf fields with beautiful architectural and cultural landmarks, chairman Y.C.
The Siza HouseLin invited the portuguese architect to design the current building as well a the future Club House, Tea House and Art Gallery.
The Siza HouseThe West Hall’s construction lasted three years and will provide a temporary space for members while the new golf clubhouse is expected in another three years.
The Siza HouseWith 1,000 square meters, The Siza House is located along the mountain slope, gracefully overlooking the field and the sky.
The Siza HouseThe playful geometry of the exposed concrete walls contrast in rigor and shadows with the light and organic shape of the adjacent lake.
The Siza House“There is optimism, dynamism, [in Taiwan] because they build very well. The building is extremely well built. Maybe I was lucky with the client.” mentioned Siza.
The Siza HouseIn addition, the building also displays several details such as: parabolic benches, lamps, tile art with a special silver glaze and wooden furniture.
