620 FultonFrancis Cauffman unveiled its first drawings for a medical center to be built on a parking lot at 620 Fulton St., Brooklyn. The building is due to complete in Autumn 2016. The teardrop shape of the building reflects the triangular site upon which it will be situated.
620 FultonThe 12-story building that the New York Hotel Trades Council and Hotel Association of New York City Inc.’s healthcare and pension arm plans to construct will have office and retail space, a restaurant and public amenities in it as well as a health center. There is a planned 20,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space its base of but also public terraces on the sixth floor and on the roof of the 12 storey building.
620 FultonOutdoor public space is incorporated at the building’s base. According to a press release from Francis Cauffman, “the outside of the building comprises a ‘unitized curtain wall system with fritted glass and 10-inch glass fins that project from the facades…that appear to dissolve the edges of the building…’ The aim is to offer onlookers changing perspectives and impressions from different vantage points giving the building a dynamic aspect.”
