
Frodsham Foundation has announced the winner of its Make Space Competition, which invited architects from across the north west to submit concepts for how a derelict Goods Shed at Frodsham Station. Manchester-based architecture practice Lewis and Hickey won with their modern vision for the derelict structure.

The brief is the transformation of this space, dubbed ‘a space to meet, create and trade’, into a not only a vibrant, attractive and welcoming gateway to Frodsham and the surrounding area, but a creative impact hub with studio and retail space to support the growth of successful and sustainable creative businesses.

We’re looking forward to developing these concepts for the sustainable re-use of this historic building for commercial and community uses “

Frodsham Foundation has been awarded a pre-feasibility grant of up to £10,000 by Social Investment Business Limited. It will be used for RIBA stage one architectural fees, a structural survey, valuation, development of governance and structure and preparation of the next stage of funding applications.
