This project for a new library in Vic is located in a high impact and historical memory place at the state and local levels at the same time is located in a privileged spot, between the old city and the new city, after crossing the river Mèder.

The building is completely open to the city, an open book which respect the urban planning but open it in the corner, thus it’s an entry point from the old city to new’s, to the culture, integration, knowledge and innovation. It also generates a new space open to the citizen in a physical and memory field.

In general terms the building is an continuing answer to the events 29th May 1991, creating an empty urban space to invite reflection which involves the building and proving that any difference and intolerance can be combated with culture, opening the door to the knowledge, acquaintance and respect between each other.
