EIPs are industrial parks in which businesses cooperate with each other to reduce waste and pollution, efficiently share resources and help achieve sustainable development, with the intention of increasing economic gains and improving environmental quality. There are over 300 EIPs in operation around the world, and yet there is not one in Peru.
EIPs offer a model for economic development based on cooperation with the goals of increasing productivity, improving resource management and enhancing environmental sustainability. Our design for the Lurin Eco-Industrial Park integrates close to 400 hectares of industrial with a green network of roads and parks that function as a waste-to-energy system reducing pollution and recycling surplus manufacturing waste for the benefit of the community.
The master plan for the Lurin Eco-Industrial Park develops a series of concentric rings that works with the existing topography. Each ring is connected to the next creating an interlocking network of bio-based facilities and industrial zones that to manage energy, water, waste and services together.
The goal of our design for the Eco-Parque Lurin is the creation of an integrated community of manufacturing and service businesses that works together to enhance environmental, economic, and social performance. The magic of Eco-Parque Lurin is that clients are more than just tenants and instead become members of a community that is proudly helping Peru grow in a responsible and inclusive way.
