Lead8 has been announced a winner at the Asia Pacific Property Awards for its design of the future Shangri-La Mixed-use Development in Fuzhou, China. The results were unveiled at a gala ceremony at Bangkok’s Marriott Marquis Hotel. Lead8 is the Design Architect and Interior Designer (Hotel, Retail and Office) for the award-winning scheme which won in the ‘Mixed-use’ category.

The future Shangri-La Mixed-use Development in Fuzhou is an exciting undertaking by one of the world’s premier developers, owners and operators of hotel and commercial properties. The scheme will see the smart transformation and expansion of the existing high-end hotel, which completed in 2005, into a mixed-use urban resort combining luxury hotel, business, retail, dining and entertainment.

“We are incredibly proud to be recognised for our work with Shangri-La Group. Almost 15 years ago they opened the first luxury international hotel in Fuzhou. We are now designing what we hope will be another first for the city; a forward-thinking development to enrich the urban centre of this Fujian capital,” commented Claude Touikan, Co Founder and Executive Director, who collected the award alongside fellow Co Founders David Buffonge and Christine Hau.

The original hotel will be renovated and interconnected to a new multi-level recreational and retail podium and Grade A office tower more than 120,000 sqm in total. Emphasising modern mixed-use design principles, Lead8 has created a boundary-less environment, seamlessly integrating spaces and greenery throughout. Construction has already commenced on the new, multi-dimensional development with an expected completion date targeted for 2022. Source and images Courtesy of Lead8.
