Millennium Park Central by Cuningham Group Architecture

Millennium Park Central

The nine-story, market-rate apartment community is the residential component of the overall revitalization of the Park Central regional mall. Millennium Park Central is developed by The Dinerstein Companies, the project will seek LEED certification. Set to open in late summer of 2021 Millennium Park Central updates Park Central’s rich Mid-Century Modern history with progressive elements, including exposed woods, rustic metals, sustainable fiber cement panels and dark masonry accents.

The 278 living units include studios, one- and two-bedrooms in a nine-story high-rise configuration. Outwardly, the building maximizes its proximity to two light rail stations and to re-emerging neighborhoods in midtown Phoenix’s urban core. Inwardly, the sophisticated mix of amenities includes a pool, spa, fitness center, resident lounge, secure indoor bike storage, technology center and a dramatic fourth-floor sky deck with dog park, lounge, outdoor kitchen and city views.

“It is exciting to design this central component of the revitalization of Park Central,” said Cuningham Group Senior Project Manager Nicholas Weidner, AIA, LEED AP BD+C. “Working with The Dinerstein Companies, our project team, and the City of Phoenix allows us to make a positive impact on this quickly re-emerging district.” Millennium Park Central integrates with Park Central’s other ongoing redevelopment strategies that include the adaptive reuse of the original shopping center, a 10-story parking structure, and a health science campus.

“The Park Central redevelopment aims to transform itself into a live, work, learn, shop and dine, pedestrian-friendly experience for residents and visitors. Our design of Millennium – Park Central embraces this multi-use street-level vitality with level-one amenities centrally located to encourage our building’s connectivity to the neighborhood,” said Weidner.
