The high-rise is located in a prominent position directly adjacent to the new cruise ship terminal at Wharf No. 6 in the Qingdao Port.
The iconic prismatic volume references and takes its orientation from the neighboring building, thus creating a strong architectural unit on an otherwise heterogeneous site.
Standing on the same building axis, the Qingdao Port Tower is constructed as a vertical counterpoint that greets all incoming boat travelers at the Port like a modern lighthouse.
The three facades are designed so that employees can enjoy an unobstructed view of their surroundings from all office floors.
The shape of the tower volume and the organization of the ground plan are also based on the client’s specifications, including large office spaces in the lower section and reduced room depth on the upper stories.
The office levels are enhanced by green spaces and sky gardens. Source by gmp.
