The design of the exhibition center of Chartres Métropole, designed by Zaha Hadid, winner of the architectural competition in 2011, will not be realized. The project, which resembles the plot of the fields Beauce, presents risks of budget which  are likely to rise abundantly.

This is the will of Jean-Pierre Gorges, the president (UMP) Chartres Métropole, who chose to terminate the collaboration with architect releasing this statement: “We have reached an agreement to stop the collaboration with Zaha Hadid as architectural competition. This procedure is too complicated for a project whose cost is controlled. ”

The estimated budget of € 30 milion, is likely to be eclipsed to realize this complex project which provides a “roof that had to support a building of 12,000 square meters, with no load-bearing walls.”Now we plans to launch a new tender, with a maximum cost set at € 30 million, and commission a new study design by next October.
