Nestled within the 18-city block district of Harwood, Bleu Ciel will feature 33-stories of splendor which will consist of two-, three-, and four- bedroom homes from 1,300 square feet to more than 7,000 feet. Bleu Ciel high rise tower is developed by global real estate developer Harwood International. Bleu Ciel will become the latest addition to the Harwood District in the Uptown area of Dallas. Bleu Ciel tower is imagined as an illustrious ‘gateway’ to the Harwood District. All flats proposed include a large private terrace and cater to the needs of contemporary living. Bleu Ciel rethinks the mix of private and public spaces to encourage residents to spend time outside, and hence, it proposes a typology where the city does not stop at the front door but rather extends into and enlivens the home.
Sculptural in form and curvilinear in plan, Bleu Ciel tower is driven by a number of physical influences, the most important one being the context of the site itself. The tower is equipped to withstand the wind forces. Its design approach opens up the skyline, provides a pleasant composition and allows more light to enter the site while casting fewer shadows on adjacent properties. Based on progressive responses to public realm and climate, the building has been designed from the inside out serving as a window looking out over the city of Dallas.
At night, the tower is lightened like a gem. The underside of the cantilevered roof is covered with a dynamic LED lighting surface. The building takes best advantage of light and shade. Its façade design with a high visibility factor and orientation would allow maximum daylight penetration. The new building fits into the orthogonal structure and proportion of the existing urban grid and adopts the stringent geometry of the existing buildings, but transports the design principles into a clear minimalist form.
