The master plan was developed by SOM a decade ago with many towers around “We do not want to build another cake high-rise. We want something different, a red line to connect with the long, rich history of Saigon are impacted in our design.” Hoang Nguyen. Prince consists of two main blocks: the commercial podium and office space in the body. Rotating the floor of the podium will create outward spaces with different sizes bridging outdoor and indoor areas.

From street level onlookers will enjoy lively effects of the change of shape. To create interaction with the surrounding environment, we apply Green Architecture LOTUS (equal as LEED Gold standard) to reduce energy consumption of the whole construction. This improved interaction between the building and the environment will enhance illumination and ventilation. Nostalgic touches, intended to evoke images of the old junctions and crossroads of Saigon, were metaphorically embedded into the 4-storey podium.

The details, developed by HAS and FDC, which are called Vietnamese pattern that can be found along the country, from private villa, pagoda, cathedral, to citadel, were carved into the concrete and designed as anti-solar-panel suitable for a tropical country. HAS also cannot afford to leave out beautiful details of the Saigon Library building, its pattern designed by architect Bui Quang Hanh in 1971.

This is all the more magnificent considering the design was before the green movement becoming popular. And now, in the 21st Century, once again we reinvent the pattern. Not only for decoration and protection, this was aimed to connect the past with the present, reminding us about our rich culture through its application to our modern life. The construction process would be started in August 2016 and finished in October 2018. Source by HAS Architecture.
