GID Development Group, a national real estate firm, celebrated the official topping out of Waterline Square, the 2.2 million-square-foot, three-tower mega-development. Designed by three world-renowned architects, One Waterline Square by Richard Meier & Partners Architects reached 37 stories, Two Waterline Square by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates (KPF) reached 38 stories and Three Waterline Square by Viñoly Architects reached to 34 stories.
Located on one of the last remaining waterfront sites in Manhattan between West 59th Street and West 61st Street on the Hudson River, Waterline Square, which is slated to commence closings in late 2018, features 263 condominiums that begin on or above the 20th floor of each building. With interiors by Champalimaud Design, Yabu Pushelberg, and Groves & Co, residences offer extraordinary river and city views, all set within a serene park.
Waterline Square represents an unprecedented approach to urban living and will complete the historic transformation of Riverside Boulevard that has spanned more than two decades along the Hudson River. Developed concurrently, each glass building will be distinct, while gesturing to each other harmoniously. The array of one- to five-bedroom homes feature a rich selection of hand-picked materials, custom kitchen cabinetry and marble baths with custom-designed vanities, over-sized windows, and high ceilings.
In addition to enjoying spectacular sunsets over the Hudson River, the three buildings will surround a new, beautifully landscaped park at the heart of the development. Encompassing nearly three acres, the Mathews Nielsen Landscape Architects-designed space features a stunning landscape that encompasses tree-lined groves, open grass areas, walking paths, a playground, fountains, and other water features.
With more than 100,000 square feet of best-in-class sports, leisure, and lifestyle amenities, as well as the beautifully landscaped park, residents at Waterline Square will also have access to one of the largest and most compelling offerings in New York City. The Waterline Club — which connects One, Two, and Three Waterline Square — is a truly extraordinary collection of indoor amenities available to all residents.
Designed by David Rockwell’s famed hospitality group, Rockwell Group, The Waterline Club offers thoughtfully programmed sports and fitness, swim and spa, leisure and social, creative, children, and pets spaces. In addition to The Waterline Club, each individual building at Waterline Square will have its own selection of exquisite private spaces available to condo residents.
Waterline Square will also be home to the first-ever experiential food market by the Cipriani family. The 28,000-square-foot space will offer a large format culinary experience with multiple food and beverage establishments, including a market, restaurants, and fast casual outlets. Located within Two Waterline Square, the new Cipriani food hall will be designed by internationally acclaimed London-based interior designer, Martin Brudnizki.
Construction at Waterline Square is being overseen by the project’s general contractor, AECOM Tishman. The superstructure for the three towers contains 96,820 cubic yards of concrete, 24,514,000 tons of reinforced steel, 210 punched windows and 15,500 curtain wall panels.
