Sadly, today it ends for us with Ryterna modul Architectural Challenge 2018 TINY HOUSE. We had big board of jury this year. And all of them there pretty different – some of them there very technical, some of them there dreamers and some there somewhere in the middle.
But eventually, after long debates, bunch of theories, approvals and denials we came to the conclusion and managed to select best works from all of those 150 submitted projects. This is why our competition winners took part in our competition and brief information about them:
1st place winner – wave house by Abdolrahman Kadkhodasalehi
The main purpose of this project is to use the blessings which nature provide for us such as rain, snow, and beautiful landscapes; for this reason, we decided to create a form to maximize the use of these resources so that the basic needs to be provided in a repetitive cycle.
The present plan is an adaptation of the curved shapes of nature, such as water, waves, etc. which have created a beautiful connection in consistent with their surroundings. The current form is a section of a circular arc designed in the size of the requested module which can be reproduced on its four sides.
The placement of service spaces in the middle creates opportunity for space expansion. The curve design and structure are organized in a way as to provide sufficient space for water supply and refinement, pumping water, and water heating systems easily.
The water stored above the service space and the bathroom can be used for various uses and, if not needed, it can be refined and stored. Water from the service, shower and the sink are also directed to the water refinery tank to be purified, re-pumped, and be stored in other reservoirs. This cycle is a part of the life of the project.
Other facilities of this project include the use of a bed and a folding desk which gives us more space. The high windows of the bedroom and living room also invite us to watch a unique view of the sky and the forest. As a conclusion, this generous project provides us the nature and its resources, so that without access to the resources inside the city, we could spend longer time in nature.
2nd place winners – Torii House by Julia and Stas Kaptur
A tiny house is a modular structure, thanks to which it is possible to assemble your individual house during the construction phase, or enlarge existing one. The house is of two types – standard and enlarged.
All houses have in the living room in the center and the same rooms on the sides. These rooms can be of any functionality (bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, work area, outdoor terrace, etc.), so that each built house will be unique.
The standard house consists of a living room and two rooms on the sides – a bedroom and a kitchen with a bathroom. The bedroom has a bed 2×2 meters, so you can take any position on it, and the fireplace attached to it will add heat in winter.
The kitchen is two meters long and contains all the minimum necessary for a comfortable cooking. The raised house is made up of two standard ones, and for their connection it is required to remove a small part of the wall.
In the enlarged house there is one central large living room and four identical rooms on each side. The side rooms are dressed from the living room by partitions – cabinets, a fireplace, a rack, etc.
