Beneville Studios collaborated on the second-floor exhibits of Empire State Building

Galleries at the Empire State Building

Empire State Realty Trust, Inc., today unveiled the Galleries at the Empire State Building, the second phase of its completely reimagined Observatory experiential museum, now open to the public at the Empire State Building (ESB) on 34th Street. A team of artists, architects, designers, and engineers, including New York City-based design consultants Beneville Studios, was also on hand for the opening.

As guests journey through the Empire State Building Observatory, the second-floor Galleries take the visitor experience to an entirely new level, and immerse guests in the history, architecture, and cultural significance of the “World’s Most Famous Building”. These interactive exhibits were conceptualized and designed using visitor feedback and will provide guests with experiential and shareable moments on the way to the Observatories on the 86th and 102nd floors.

The second-floor exhibits are the latest phase to be unveiled within the overarching guest journey that will be fully completed by November 2019. As one of the first teams invited to the project team by ESRT ownership, Beneville Studios has contributed to the vision of the new experience from its inception: initially to distill and define ESRT’s vision and to conceive of high-level concepts that first animated this ambitious project, and then to help assemble and work alongside the world-class team that brought those visions to reality.

Through the process and in partnership with project lead Thinc Design, Beneville Studios helped to craft the narrative of the visitor’s journey, ensuring that the physical, visual, and experiential perceptions of the project always inspire and engage visitors. “The visitor is able to touch, feel, hear, and experience the extraordinary ingenuity of this iconic building. The journey is playful and yet sophisticated, and it captures the incredible story of the Empire State Building from its groundbreaking past to its glorious present” says Michael Beneville, Founder and CEO of Beneville Studios.
