Yinjispace collaborates with South African

Yinjispace, a renowned Chinese design platform, organised an educational design and art tour from 9 to 15 June 2024, highlighting Cape Town as a global design centre.

Working with SAOTA, an internationally renowned architecture studio, and its sister companies ARRCC, an interior design studio and OKHA, a luxury furniture and design studio, who spearheaded a series of masterclasses around the city, opening their studios to share invaluable insights and expertise, followed by tours of completed projects in and around Cape Town.

The tour brought together prominent Chinese property developers, architects, and interior designers who participated in in-depth masterclasses covering various design dimensions, including architecture, interior design, furniture, and art.

Yinjispace also partnered with local galleries and artists such as Southern Guild, Bronze Age Studio, Zizipho Poswa and Andile Dyalvane to enrich the tour with diverse creative perspectives and talents.

Participants explored SAOTA projects like Upper Albert, Beyond, Kloof House, and ARRCC’s Glen Villa, with lead architects and designers presenting detailed talks on each project’s architecture and interior design.

The group spent a day at Bosjes in Ceres, where Tiaan Meyer from Meyer & Associates guided them through the estate’s architecture and the design of the famous chapel and Botha’s Halte Primary School.

In addition to design and art, participants also experienced some of Cape Town’s best restaurants, including Siba, Kloof Street House, Dawn, The Greenhouse at Babylonstoren, and the Wisdom Room at the Silo Hotel, adding a culinary dimension to the tour.

The tour showcased Cape Town as a global design hub and promoted more significant tourism between South Africa and China. By bringing together designers and creative minds from different corners of the world, Yinjispace paved the way for cross-cultural collaboration and the exchange of ideas and innovation.
