Statsbygg, the state agency in charge of public buildings, unveiled the six architectural for the redevelopment of Norway’s state government complex in Oslo.

The six architectural and consulting team has worked proposals:
– Team Asplan viak
– Team BIG
– Team LPO
– Team MVRDV
– Team Snøhetta
– Team White

The project will ultimately replace the office space lost when three of the buildings housing government ministries were severely damaged in the bombing in a lone right-wing extremist’s attack in 2011.

The proposed new zoning can ideas from the various proposals in parallel assignment combined into an overall concept for the urban development of the new government quarter.

One building has already been torn down, while the government has decided that two more will be razed as well. The 1950s-era high-rise that housed the Justice Ministry and the Office of the Prime Minister will be preserved and surrounded by new ministries.

Zoning proposal will be sent out to public consultation in spring 2016 and it is expected that the state zoning finalized and adopted during 2016.
