Yesterday, the Fondazione Fiera approved the club’s plan for a new, state-of-the-art stadium in the city’s Portello-Fiera district (next to his home “Casa Milan”). The stadium is slated for completion for the 2018-2019 Serie A season.

Milan have overhauled their roster, introduced a new insignia on their kits, and, in a few short years, will play matches in a brand-new, state-of-the-art stadium. Earlier this year, the club had submitted plans for a stadium to seat 48, 000 in the city’s Portello-Fiera district, right in the center of Milan.

The project, which will cost anywhere between 300-350 million euros, will see the Rossoneri leave the iconic Stadio San Siro it shares with rivals Inter. The new ground will be run by the club, and will feature a hotel, restaurants, parking areas, offices and educational facilities. Source AC Milan.

“The project, developed by our architecture, urban planning and engineering team in Milan is well rooted in the long-lasting experience built on some of the most exciting sports projects in the world. The project has been developed with a fully holistic and integrated approach where all the design components have been carefully balanced around the spectator’s experience.

Some of these innovative components include sight-lines analysed and designed for every seat and developed by an Arup parametric tool that guarantees the best possible view from every location in the stadium; high-tech solutions that will enhance the spectators’ experience before, during and after the matches and special VIP facilities with lounges and spaces with a direct view on the mixed-zone and on the route from the athletes’ changing rooms to the pitch.” Reports from Arup.
