The former Carlsberg brewery complex is situated next to Copenhagen’s city center. In 2008 Carlsberg moved its beer production to a location in Jutland, except for Jacobsen House Brewery, where special beers are brewed. The thirty-hectare area left behind is being redeveloped into Carlsberg City.

While preserving the historical buildings, the new district will provide thousands of houses, shops, cultural facilities, sports facilities, offices and another project NORD were a part of, the educational campus of UCC, as well as a new railway station.

Centrally located in Carlsberg City District, amongst several landmark buildings of high architectural quality, lies the European School Copenhagen. A modern public school that refers to its surroundings in a architectural sense. Placed on the corner of Ny Carlsbergvej and Pasteursvej – in close proximity to the historic Carlsberg Elephant Gate and several other landmarks.
