Jacque Fresco and Roxanne Meadows, co-founders of The Venus Project, present a bold new direction for humanity that entails nothing less than the total redesign of our culture.
It proposes a feasible plan of action for social change, one that works towards a peaceful and sustainable global civilization in which human beings, technology, and nature will be able to coexist in a long-term, sustainable state of dynamic equilibrium.
It presents an attainable vision of what our world could be if we intelligently apply science and technology with environmental and human concern – a future where war, poverty and hunger could be but a distant memory.
If we really wish to put an end to our ongoing international and social problems, we need to work toward all the worlds’ resources becoming the common heritage of all Earth’s people and eventually outgrow the need for the artificial boundaries that separate people.
This new social design called a Resource Based Economy will encourage a new incentive system, one that is no longer directed toward the shallow and self-centered goals of wealth, property, and power.
The architectural considerations and designs correlate with these social aims. Today with access to highly advanced technologies, computers, artificial intelligence, and by nurturing creativity we could create abundance and a high standard of living for everyone.
However, the worlds’ social and economic systems have not kept up with our technological capabilities that could easily enable a world free of servitude and debt for all.
We are not referring to the exploitation of our resources but living within Earth’s carrying capacity. Earth is abundant with plentiful resources.
