The refurbishment of the former Cyrus shopping mall aims at providing the scene with a contemporary high tech campus that is deeply rooted into local building techniques and programs.

Julian Breinersdorfer Architekten from Berlin are collaborating with Transsolar to investigate ancient persian architectural adaptions to the harsh climate at the foothills of the elburs mountains, and transform them into a intelligent low/high-tech hybrid building systems.

Centrepiece of the campus will be a moss and watervapor airfiltering courtyard, that doesn’t require electrical energy to provide fresh air in smog-plagued Tehran.

The rooftop will feature a restaurant in a traditional persian garden, the water bassin and plantations will be integrated into the buildings climate system.
