Hotel in Wiener Neudorf by Zechner & Zechner

B&B Hotel

After only 18 months of construction, the project B&B Hotel The Landmark in Wiener Neudorf (Lower Austria) was completed.

The building, designed by Zechner & Zechner ZT GmbH, constitutes a striking entrance to Austria’s largest business park and offers new opportunities in terms of dining and hospitality for the businesses located there.

As a landmark, the new hotel is located directly at the entrance to the industrial center of Wiener Neudorf and, coming from the highway, is immediately visible.

The Zechner & Zechner architects set the new building in contrast to the adjacent hall and commercial buildings, which extend mainly horizontally.

“We’ve stacked the functional groups on top of each other and have thus designed an important ‘landmark’ for the region,” says architect Martin Zechner, describing the design idea. “Vertically, rather than horizontally, was the strategy we chose here.”

Stacking the Functional Groups
The new hotel, operated by the French group B&B Hotels, extends over five floors above ground. Each floor has a central core, from which three wings spread out in a Y-shape. Depending on the floor level, these wings have a different look and feel.

On floors 2 to 5, the rooms of each wing are arranged on both sides of an access corridor. The top four floors accommodate a total of 104 hotel rooms, which are set on a transparent base made of generous glass elements.

The ground floor offers hotel guests, as well as employees and visitors to the industrial center, a wide range of restaurant and dining options in the form of a food court. In addition, there is an underground parking garage housing 51 parking spaces.

Upwards stacking – this concept is also emphasized by the overhanging floor slabs, which are rounded at the corners. Their irregular appearance not only sets design accents, but also provides partial sun protection for the adjacent hotel rooms.

The building, measuring 4,000 square meters, was constructed by the Vienna Mamma Group with its subsidiary IZ Landmark Wiener Neudorf GmbH & Co. KG. Source by Zechner & Zechner.
