Sevenoaks Town Council and the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) Competitions announced the shortlist for the competition to design a new Community & Conference Centre in the Bat & Ball area of Sevenoaks, Kent.
Sevenoaks Town Council was looking for an architect to design a new facility to be built behind the current building. It is envisaged that this scheme will be the corner stone of regeneration of the Bat and Ball area, creating a commercially attractive conference and community centre at the heart of the community it serves.
The competition received an excellent response with 70 entries from the UK and Europe and the shortlisted teams selected (in alphabetical order) are:
– dRMM – de Rijke Marsh Morgan Architects, London
– Ian McChesney Ltd, London
– Theis and Khan Architects, Kent
– Tim Ronalds Architects, London
– White Arkitekter AB, Sweden and London
A physical exhibition of the conceptual designs from the teams will be taking place at Sevenoaks Community Centre, Cramptons Road, Sevenoaks, Kent, TN14 5DN on Friday 15 May 2pm to 8pm and Saturday 16 May 10am to 1pm.
The public are invited to provide feedback on the five concept designs, shown anonymously, at either the physical exhibition or here at the online exhibition. The judging panel will make its recommendation to the Town Council, and will be publically announced on the 8th June 2015. Source by RIBA.
