The  CTBUH highlighted the ‘astonishing’ scale of glazing the building required, while architecture critics have praised the tower’s fascinating organic form. The building represents the evolution of man through the twisting DNA helix pattern, a testament to the power of human ingenuity. Anthony Wood, a member of the CTBUH jury responsible for selecting the finalists for Best Tall Building in Europe said: “The world has seen an increasing number of twisting towers in the last decade or so, but Evolution Tower takes the record for the most extreme twist.”

The unique spiral design of the tower marks a remarkable architectural accomplishment, with an overall twist of 156 degrees clockwise. Each of the tower’s 52 floors is rotated three degrees, leading to the ‘twisted’ corkscrew shape. The building’s smooth glass facade and helical white ribbon facade form a captivating but subtle nod to our own evolution.Designed by RMJM in partnership with Scottish artist Karen Forbes, Evolution Tower represents the spirit of innovative collaboration on which RMJM has built an international reputation.

About the project:
The Evolution Tower is a supertall building based in Moscow’s International Business Centre, three miles from the Kremlin. The building twists a total of 156 degrees clockwise in a twisted corkscrew shape, with each of the towers 52 floors rotated exactly 3 degrees. Designed by RMJM with Scottish artist Karen Forbes, the Evolution Tower includes office and retail space, and a registry office for the city’s inhabitants. In a subtle nod to this, the building’s unique design took cues from French artist Auguste Rodin’s sculpture ‘The Kiss’, which shows two figures entwined in an embrace. The building’s smooth glass facade and helical white ribbon facade also form a captivating but subtle nod to our own evolution. Source by RMJM Group.
