“We built the first office building in Uptown [for Rolex], and after 30 years, Rolex and Harwood International are partnering once again to build another addition in our district,” Harwood CEO Gabriel Barbier-Mueller said in a statement.

“This development will set a new standard for work life in the U.S. “We intend on creating an office that will feature a unique blend of innovative architecture and gardens that Dallas has never seen before.” Harwood’s in-house design team and Tokyo-based Kengo Kuma & Associates did the building with unique stacked floors that twist. Architect Kengo Kuma said the design “fuses nature and architecture.”

Landscape architect Sadafumi Uchiyama has planned a “Japanese-inspired tiered garden” with reflecting pools and waterfalls for the base of the tower. The building, which will be next door to the original Rolex Building on Harwood Street that went up in 1984, will open late next year. Source and images by The Dallas Morning News.
