ON THE EDGE, our unique design for a landscape hotel, located in Cecily, as a part of the Young Architects competition with the main purpose of the The lighthouse of Murro di Porco revitalization.
The main project’s concept was creating a well-designed accommodation units fully integrated with the nature of the surrounding, with the maximum ability of exploring the rock, sea and water.
The light house platform was reused as the hotel main reception with all the entertainment facilities around it, while connecting the lighthouse axis with the main city streets, going towards the project main plaza.
The units were steeled on the site edge, using the cantilever structural elements, with the maximum luxury while maintaining the visual connection between the user and the nature.
Therefore the three main circulations were created to connect all the project elements together.
The first is to connect the units on ground level, the second to connect the cantliver units and the third to connect all the units with the sea and maintain the easy exploration of this old monumental natural are of the city. Source by IPLUS Studio.
