The exhibition, hosted in the Vudafieri-Saverino Partners Studio during the Milan Design Week, displays a selection of ceramics by the British young designer. Works that reinterpret history and architecture through shapes, colours and pop atmospheres.
Under the curatorship of Luca Molinari, the exhibition will display – from 16th to 22nd April – ceramic works realised with Bitossi in an exclusive limited series, as well as pieces from the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London; and then drawings, prints and videos made by Furman.
The exhibition’s theatre is the Vudafieri-Saverino Partners studio, where Tiziano Vudafieri and Claudio Saverino have been able to construct a narrative work space, inhabited by eclectic artistic references, and which – together with Luca Molinari – for this occasion have re-invented a new interesting narration.
It is exactly this relationship of contamination between different styles, markings, and references which give a framework to Adam Nathaniel Furman’s works, evoking the peculiar pop style which has rapidly brought him to the centre of public and critical acclaim. Free and transversal experimentation is one of the remedies in order to renew design and architecture in a period of dullness, which calls for different solutions and courageous choices.
The design and theoretical work of the young English designer Adam Nathaniel Furman is one of the most surprising and stimulating antidotes on the contemporary scene, and it is exhibited here for the first time in Italy at the Vudafieri-Saverino Partners studio.“Two ceramic micro-architecture families occupy this atelier’s spaces creating a dialogue with the contemporary works of art which normally occupy the work spaces.
The works of Adam Nathaniel Furman, indicated by the specialised media as one of the emerging creative talents on the British scene, are composed of two distinct groups sharing a surprising capacity to reinterpret the Italian tradition in a Pop and irreverent style: “Roman Singularity.”
A series of classic-shaped, brightly coloured ceramics, recently exhibited at the Sir John Soane’s Museum in London, and an original production of ceramics made by Bitossi, one of the historical brands in the relationship between avantgarde design and Italian tradition.
