EDIT Napoli: spotlight on the rise of the designer-maker

EDIT Napoli

EDIT Napoli the innovative fair created to support and promote independent designers – will premiere from June 6-9th 2019 in Naples, a capital in the Mediterranean circuit of culture with its rich history of talented craftspeople, local manufacturing industry, and prestigious art scene. EDIT Napoli will take over the Complesso di San Domenico Maggiore in the heart of historical city centre, and will attract an audience looking for something different.

The fair focuses on the rise of the designer-maker: those who sidestep the industry by flying solo on all aspects of design production, from conception and fabrication to branding and distribution. It’s a striking new path and never before has a design fair exclusively spotlit this specific trend. EDIT Napoli showcases a mix of well-known names, younger designers, established producers and collaborations between manufacturers and designers.

It address the thought-leaders of the design world, and aims to building a bridge between designer-makers and buyers, retailers, interior designers, and architects. Domitilla Dardi and Emilia Petruccelli, curator and director of the project respectively, scouted more than 50 exhibitors that favour quality over quantity and have a practice rooted in making. Leading designers and manufactures will exhibit pieces through a series of creations conceived exclusively for EDIT Napoli. EDIT Napoli emphasises the commitment to the territory and its heritage through its Residency program. Source by EDIT Napoli.
